
The government has announced that applications and replacements for national identity cards will remain free until 2027, in a move aimed at improving access to essential services.
Speaking in Nairobi during the 20th episode of the Sema Na Spox: Bonga Na Gava podcast, Isaac Mwaura confirmed the extension, noting that it is part of broader government efforts to support citizens.
“First-time National Identity Card applications and replacements will remain free until 2027,” he said.
